Candidates shall be required to demonstrate practical and progressive experience in the following areas:
  • Developing scopes of work for use in proposals.
  • Reviewing engineering design analyses related to allowable bearing pressures, settlement analysis, deep foundation, liquefaction and site-specific seismic designs, slope stability, seepage analysis, and support of excavations.
  • Perform oversight and Manage junior staff who perform oversight during subsurface explorations;
  • Reviewing engineering analyses performed by junior staff, including analyses for slope stability, settlement and consolidation, deep foundation design, support of excavation design, and soil liquefaction;
  • Preparing engineering reports, including the evaluation of collected field and laboratory results, in accordance with the NYC Building Code and other IBC-based codes;
  • Providing Special Inspection oversight for deep foundation testing and installation, subgrade inspection, controlled filling and in-place density testing, and installation of underpinning and support of excavation (SOE) systems.
Qualifications:
  • A Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering (post-graduate education with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus)
  • A current NYS Professional Engineering license (or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire)
  • Candidates shall have good writing skills and analytical thinking
