Woolpert is hiring an Electro-Mechanical Installer to join our dynamic Hydro Survey team at our San Rafael, CA office. This position is responsible for installing and wiring sensors on barges. Qualified candidates will have strong electro/mechanical aptitude.Essential FunctionsAs an Electro-Mechanical Installer at Woolpert, a few of your essential functions will be:
  • Installation & Setup: Install and wire sensors on barges, ensuring a clean, rugged, and reliable setup that can withstand harsh field conditions.
  • Maintenance, Repairs & Assembly: Maintain, configure, and repair sensors and equipment both in the shop and in the field. Assemble and prepare equipment to ensure operational readiness for field use.
  • Client Communication & Scheduling: Develop a basic understanding of dredging operations and equipment. Communicate with customers for off-site troubleshooting and repairs. Schedule on-site visits with minimal disruption and cost for both the customer and the company.
  • Data & Reporting: Understand the data generated by tracking systems and comprehend why the systems are needed, including how the data is utilized. Provide accurate and timely reporting of progress on tasks and projects to relevant stakeholders.
  • Inventory & Record Keeping: Manage and track inventory for field operations, ensuring parts availability. Maintain accurate documentation of support work performed, including equipment costs and other expenses.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively solve issues to minimize downtime. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth field operations and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of four (2) years’ experience in integration or related field
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Electro/mechanical aptitude
  • Basic networking skills
  • Soldering

  • Conduct unbiased investigations for a variety of clients.

  • North Carolina and South Carolina Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

  • Troubleshooting on all Turbomachinery products.
  • The role will include extensive levels of travel (up to 80%), sometimes to remote areas both onshore and offshore and outside of the US if required.

observations, recommendations and actions.Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required, college preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' field service experience.
