The person in this position will assist in the recruiting, marketing, planning and implementation of short-term high impact global opportunities for engineering undergraduate students. Program Specialist I will be responsible for identified activities of the HEGP’s Faculty-led programs as well as field trip opportunities from the College of Engineering.Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of Faculty-Led and departmental Field Trip programs within the College of Engineering
- Guide program marketing and recruitment efforts, using student databases to identify eligible students, creating and distributing email, print, and digital content, and supporting faculty informational sessions
- Monitor and manage application and forms status, evaluation, acceptance, and commitment for all programs
- Provide support and feedback to prospective and participating students through messaging, calls, and in-person consultations
- Collect and provide student documents and information to program vendors, university partners, and faculty prior to departure, ensuring that all FERPA guidelines are followed
- Support the planning and implementation of Faculty-Led Orientation workshops for all students
- Confirm student eligibility and course registration prior to departure, and support the student appeal process as needed
- Provide weekly reports on program application and enrollment status, and maintain records for year-over-year comparisons and evaluation
- Create and monitor social media chat groups for each program to facilitate student community building and to provide support as needed
- Attend and participate in pre- and post-program meetings with faculty members
- Create and maintain departmental curriculum-mapping sheets for program development and course selection
- Maintain effective written and verbal communication with program faculty and staff in other departments and units
- Supervise student workers and global ambassadors supporting Faculty-Led program management
- Other duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- No prior experience required.

- Preferred experience includes participating in or working with study abroad programs and living or traveling abroad
