Design / Selection / Engineering of Fire Protection System, qualified to degree level. Candidate should have worked for execution of Basic/Conceptual Engineering, FEED, EPCM, EPC modes of execution for Indian and International projects. This position is for Senior Engineer -Fire Protection System The candidate shall be conversant in the development, review, and finalization of critical project deliverables like Design Criteria, Design calculations (example, flow and pressure-drop calculations for system distribution and collection mains), System sizing calculations for fire protection, material requisition for fire protection and detection equipment.Candidate having design and detail engineering experience in Semiconductor facility, Battery manufacturing and Data Center is preferable.Major Responsibilities:Selected candidate will report to the Engineer Group Supervisor and essential job duties will include the following:
  • Review of deliverables of Process Package
  • Ensuring quality for the deliverables /work done
  • Support project / proposal activities
  • Interaction with Global office / Home office (abroad), execute work on workshare mode
  • Supporting the project through construction and commissioning phases
  • Develop technical specifications for Equipment/Package. Review of specifications from Licensor / Client / PMC
  • Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Clients / PMC, Bidders / Vendors
  • Design, preparation of MDS/Engineering drawings, MRQs. Review of Quotes, assessing deviations, raising of TQs, TBEs, MRPs

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 11+ years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities.
  • Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.
  • Specific capabilities required for the role include experience in:
  • Detail engineering for Fire Protection system design.
  • Selection of fire protection and detection equipment such fire water pumps, Fire Extinguishers, fire detectors, foam system per the design conditions meeting specific project requirements.
  • Understanding of Inspection requirements. Review of shop and site test procedures.
  • Understand various types of materials to be used for different services and review of vendor proposed materials.
  • Knowledge of other industry/regulatory codes and standards like NFPA, NBC and IBC, ANSI, ISO, BS, BIS, IS, ASME, OISD, Licensor & Client specifications etc.
  • Familiarity with model reviews and use of SPR is desirable.
  • Broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of executing large projects.
  • Ability to quickly provide data for carrying out preliminary detailing / estimation by Mechanical and other Engineering disciplines.
  • Trouble shooting, resolution of Client and site queries.
  • Knowledge & assessment of Suppliers capabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines and other stake holders including other offices.
  • Good oral as well as written communication skills are essential.
